Our Hamper Bestsellers
18 November 2024
We talk about knowing your customers and creating the perfect gift hamper range a lot here at Gadsby. Often, it’s hard to know where to start and what will sell, whether you’re adding to a range or creating a new collection entirely.
Within this post, we’ll share some of our bestselling products, giving you a good base to start creating your range. Want to know what the best wicker hamper basket is to get? Or which cardboard hamper is going to be flying off the shelves? Keep reading...
1. 10 Inch Wicker Hamper Basket
We think there are a few reasons why our 10 inch wicker hamper is a hit with customers. First, the cost price starts at £4.60 for bigger quantities making it a great lower-priced luxury gift hamper. Plus, like all our wicker hampers, it makes perfect gifts that add value, while ticking all the boxes for eco-friendliness and reusability.
This is the ideal size for creating a small entry-level hamper as part of a wider gifting range. Fill with various sweets, chocolates, smaller clothing items and more.
2. Small Card Hamper Box - Wicker Print
Our small card hamper box comes in a realistic wicker print, making it even more of a cost-effective hamper option. It takes no time to assemble as it has already been made, and we can see why it’s such a hit with our customers.
Made from recycled cardboard, the reusability and recyclability factor is also there, much like our wicker hamper baskets. What makes this gift box so popular? It’s great for housing chocolates, confectionary and other lightweight products for the recipient to enjoy.
3. Medium Card Tray - Manilla
We love a card tray and so do our customers, it seems! This medium card tray in classic manilla can hold two wine bottles plus various smaller gifts. We think as this tray is such a great size and the colour is the perfect neutral, it’s a no-brainer for your gifting range.
What makes it more perfect? It doesn’t have a top so you can fill and create more of a display. Fill with shredded paper and place each item in the tray so your customer can see everything that you’re offering. You can then either wrap the tray with the items in a shrink wrap bag or use cellophane and a ribbon.
12 Inch Wicker Hamper Basket
Is it any surprise that we have two of our wicker hamper baskets in the top 5? This slightly bigger size can hold a little more than the 10 inch. Fill with sweets, chocolates, small toys and more. They also work well if you’re hoping to create your gifting range.
If you are thinking about branding your hampers though, we recommend going the next size up (depending on your logo) to the 14 inch size as we need a little more room to be able to stencil the lid.
Small Bamboo Tray
And the final bestseller in our top 5 is our small bamboo tray. Opt for small cosmetics, confectionery, jams and chutneys, cheese or chocolate for this hamper. Or a range of all the above! It's a sustainable material that can be reused by the recipient or recycled. Finish the hampers off with a satin ribbon and bow after you wrap it in cellophane or a shrink wrap bag. How do you make a hamper look impressive?
To make a hamper look impressive, focus on presentation and variety. Start by choosing a sturdy, attractive basket or box (look at our top 5 and go from there). Then arrange the items well, with larger items at the back and smaller ones in the front.
Use fillers like shredded paper, wood wool or tissue paper to add volume and extra security. Adding a colour-coordinated ribbon or bow and wrapping the hamper in cellophane gives it a professional finish. Including a mix of high-quality, themed items to enhance its appeal and make it stand out in a crowded market.
What do you put in a hamper?
When putting together a hamper, choose items that suit a variety of recipients or occasions. Common choices include gourmet food items like chocolates, cheese, crackers, biscuits or wine.
For a pampering theme, include luxury bath products, scented candles or skincare items. You can also add practical items like kitchen tools, home décor, or cosy accessories like blankets. The key is to know your customers and from that, you can create a balanced and cohesive mix of items.
What makes a good hamper?
A good hamper feels well-curated and looks appealing to your customer. Balance is important. Mix larger statement pieces with smaller, thoughtful extras to create interest. Don't forget about your presentation. Neat arrangements and decorative packaging make the hamper inviting and memorable.
