Why is transit packaging crucial during the festive period?

Transit packaging is important during the Christmas period as you will face a significant increase in shipping volumes. This is all because of the predicted heightened demand for gifting and festive purchases.

With more products shipped over longer distances, often through varying couriers, the risk of damage during transit rises. Fragile items like bottles and hampers need extra protection to ensure they arrive intact.

Customer expectations are also usually higher during the festive season. With this, any delays or damaged deliveries can lead to negative reviews, refunds or lost future business. Quality transit packaging helps protect products, ensuring they arrive safely.

Bottle Packaging

A corrugated sleeve is a brilliant way to protect fragile bottles and jars from knocks or scrapes. Insert the bottle into the expanding sleeve and place it inside your hamper. Fill in any gaps with shredded paper or wood wool to ensure the bottle doesn’t move around at all during transit.

Our bottle transit boxes fit our wooden bottle boxes perfectly. Protect your bottle again with a corrugated sleeve and shredded paper then, once the bottle is secure in the wooden box, slide the box into the transit packaging. The cardboard outer has been designed to fit the box without any gaps.

Hamper Packaging

You’ll find a similar snug fit with our hamper cardboard transit boxes. The double-walled mailing box comprises of corrugated card sandwiched between an outer layer of heavier cardboard. This makes the outer boxes extra sturdy and strong for shipping your hampers.

When filling your hampers with all those delicious goodies, we’d recommend adding in more shred or wood wool than you would if you were an offline store. This added cushioning just offers a bit more protection.

Transit Packaging as Hampers

Our transit boxes don’t just make great protective outers, they also work well for creating cost-effective, budget-friendly hampers. Fill the box with shredded paper or wood wool, as you would one of our wicker hampers, and fill it with a variety of products. Use ribbon to finish to make an attractive, yet inexpensive hamper.

The Little Extras

Once you’ve ensured you’ve packaged your products as best you can, it’s time to let the courier know to take care with your parcels. We stock regular ‘Fragile’ packaging tape and eco-friendly ‘Fragile’ tape for you to display on your items so they’re taken care of when being transported.
